FENCING & ENCLOSURES

Fencing & Enclosures don’t have to be mundane…or ugly.

Putnam has creative solutions
to ensure the durability, playability,
security and beauty of your tennis court.

We like to come up with creative fencing because sometimes fencing can be the least attractive component of a landscape. With interesting uses of stone and cedar we can design an enclosure that goes well beyond a “work out cage” to construct a fence that will enhance your landscape and your views.

Putnam fencing is available for any enclosure or security need — tennis or basketball courts, parking areas, patios, walkways, and more. The traditional type of vinyl fabric fencing we use is beautiful as well as durable, and can be installed on posts of natural red cedar, vinyl-coated steel, or galvanized steel. (Putnam fencing is 9-gauge, 1 3/4" vinyl-coated chain link.) And because it’s Putnam fencing, materials and workmanship are fully guaranteed.
We will work with your architect or landscape architect’s specifications to produce custom designs. A nice touch is having a windscreen customized with a personal or a club monogram. We can also provide fencing for special needs: gardens, playgrounds and regulation pool enclosures.

We recommend and install top-of-the-line "Schedule 40" fence posts, steel pipe, not tubing, and we set them firmly in 3' concrete footings. Black chain link fencing remains our most popular installation color because it completely disappears into the landscape, but we offer a range of other colors in greens, browns and grays.

Typically, the fencing dimensions for a fully surrounded court are 360' x 10' high. Should you prefer a lower surround to avoid a 'cage' appearance, we can provide low (3' to 4') or even open sides. Angled corners provide an even more open appearance. We provide gates if the court is fully enclosed, and we recommend installing an additional wide gate for leaf blowing.

If a more rustic appearance is the goal, we can use cedar fence posts, either squared, pressure-treated lumber or rough-cut with the bark still attached.
